A variable race track for quick assembling and dismantling
Every day there are more affectionates of slot races. The craziest fans often sacrifice a whole room for a fix race track installation or they spend hours in assembling their track for a slot race event with their friends... The German wooden slot race system named "Slotfire" is different. Even long distance tracks can be assembled and dismantled quickly. Slotfire has been created for demanding slot race fans who are looking for the perfect track for scales of 1:32 and 1:24.
Slotfire is modular three-lane system - even with two modules you can set up a track. Every module fits together with any other, because the lanes are ending on each board at the same place. This way it's always possible to redesign the track by exchanging or adding modules. Every module has a base of 170 x 85 cm (66,93 x 33,46 inches) with a race track length of 3,00 m to 3,50 m (approx. 3,3 to 3,9 yards). With 3 modules you already would dispose of 10 meters (approx. 11 yards) of a three-lane race track. A huge track of 20 meters (approx. 22 yards) can be completely assembled by only one person in approx. 50 minutes.
At present Slotfire offers 15 different modules. They have different curve radiuses, opening and closing curves and bottleneck situations just like in real life races. The standardized distance between slots is 11 cm (4,33 inches) and lies above Carrera's standard of 9,9 cm (3,898 inches) for a scale of 1:24.
In order to provide an elegant and easy handable power supply the connection box has been integrated in the track board. In the connection box you find three-pole connection terminals for each of the three drivers. Power is double fed into the connection box. More than double is unnecessary as Slotfire tracks have ten times less passages than regular plastic race tracks.
On Slotfire tracks you can drive slot cars with and without magnets. A steel braid gives hold also to magnetic cars. The varnish applied on the surface alongside the lanes contains small particles, so the cars can race with excellent road holding right from the start, comparable to tracks like "Carrera-Exclusiv", "Racy" and "Scalextric Sport".
You can store your Slotfire modules anywhere, in the cellar, under the sofa, behind the wardrobe ... The boards can be stacked or leaned with minium space consumption. The compact size also makes transports possible: a regular estate car is quite enough for transportation, e.g. if you like to take the track to your garden or to your friends' house. Consider that a portable slot race track like Slotfire is also usable at comercial events. It is still undecided who is going to be in charge of Slotfire's representation in Great Britain / England. At present Slotfire is looking for this person.
